Welcome to The Arts Society East Suffolk web site

We were founded in 1979 as the East Suffolk Decorative and Fine Arts Society and are now in our fifth decade of providing a stimulating programme of activities for our members and guests. At our AGM on November 28th 2017 the Society unanimously decided to change its operational name to The Arts Society East Suffolk. This signalled our affiliation with the National body, once commonly known by its initials NADFAS but now known as “The Arts Society”.

Members are kept informed of our activities via this website and email contacts from the various secretaries and convenors responsible for organising our events. We are considering resurrecting the idea of a quarterly newsletter, and much depends on the available time and energy of the active members as to whether this will go further forward. We try to conduct all our financial activity by on-line banking, and as a charity we are glad to be able to supplement our income (and keep subscriptions really low) by recovery of annual substantial Gift Aided tax refunds from HMRC.
